KUKUI’s Success Platform helps Adams Autoworx achieve kaizen.

For Bill Adams, the founder of Adams Autoworx in Castro Valley, CA, KUKUI represents kaizen. In his personal and professional life, Bill continuously strives to be better. That is the essence of kaizen. It’s a Japanese term that means “change for the better,” and that was the goal for Adams Autoworx when they began using KUKUI.

KUKUI Gives Oversight That Makes Delegation Easier

Delegation isn’t easy for many business owners, but it’s often necessary if you want your business to grow. Bill has found handing responsibilities and tasks off to employees is easier with KUKUI at his disposal. KUKUI’s dashboard keeps Bill up to date on what’s happening throughout the shop so he’s still able to keep an eye on everything that he isn’t managing directly.

Delegation also allows Bill to be the face of the auto shop, which has been key to attracting the right clientel. He’s able to personally reach out to customers and build a lasting relationship. It’s this type of relationship building that has been the basis of Adams Autoworx’s success.

Finding the Right Customers for Regular Business

Adams Autoworx has used KUKUI for over a decade. In that time, KUKUI has helped shape the way Bill runs his auto shop. It’s given him insights that have influenced policies for the better. It’s helped him define the identity of his business and understand how to attract the right types of customers for his type of business.

One thing that has been very important to Bill is finding customers that are the most likely to become long-term clients. With KUKUI’s Success Platform that’s been possible. It’s helped Adams Autoworx find, connect with and retain new customers. Acquiring around 100 new clients a month has been relatively easy using the automated outreach, service reminders and online appointment scheduling.

The Review Management tools have also been a key part of Adams Autoworx’s success. Bill credits the easy two-click review process for the shop’s increase in positive reviews that attract new customers.

Adaptability Allows Adams Autoworx to Keep Reaching Higher Goals

The goal of any good business is to keep growing and improving. It’s a type of kaizen that’s much easier to achieve when you have tools that can grow and adapt to continue supporting your business.

KUKUI’s Director of Marketing, Rick Sage, notes that his company fully embraces kaizen. KUKUI’s efforts to keep improving and evolving has a direct and positive impact for its clients like Adams Autoworx. “We stay on top of technology as it changes,” Rick says. “The ability to evolve our product and meet needs as the world changes around us is tantamount to our clients’ success.”

Beyond investing in and developing new technology, KUKUI is purpose-built to be a flexible tool that can adapt to an auto shop’s changing needs. The data aggregation, reporting tools and analytics help businesses assess their performance, identify areas of improvement and implement changes.

Something that Bill has found particularly useful is the KUKUI dashboard. There he can see everything at a glance. He keeps an eye on daily, weekly, monthly and annual numbers. Team members also have access to the information so that everyone is on the same page.

These numbers tell him how his auto shop is operating and why it’s operating that way. Bill can dig into the data to make short-term and long-term adjustments that maxmize profit and keep employees busy.

One thing Bill realized was that his bays were maxed out, but instead of trying to find ways to fit in more cars the better option was to try to attract owners with different kinds of cars. Instead of increasing the number of clients, the goal shifted to increasing the average repair order.

KUKUI not only helped Bill recognize this need, it also helped him determine and attract the right type of vehicles to service. Adams Autoworx found great success in marketing online to Subaru owners in the local area. These clients have become repeat customers that care about working with a quality shop that will take care of their vehicle.

Expanding their virtual presence and capabilities is another way KUKUI has benefitted Adams Autoworx over the years. Their custom website is fully modernized to capture leads and gain traffic. On the website customers can then live chat with a team member or schedule a service online. Today 50% of the services are scheduled online through the website.

The KUKUI platform serves as a digital hub for Adams Autoworx where they can manage the website, review appointments, analyze marketing campaigns and keep in contact with clients. Everything is streamlined, which a benefit for the shop and its clients. In a word, KUKUI is kaizen.
